Thawing

Stasis is an oasis
When life deals
A bad hand
But it robs life
Of it's right
To grow and expand

It may preserve
A life span
But a life on ice
Un-lived
Is a high price
And to all parties involved, a fib

A seed could be
For a thousand years
But until it sprouts
What has it been
But a capsule
Shielding from fear and doubt

And while this storm was weathered
Lost in crystal sleep
It's a small victory, high sacrifice
When the infinite ocean
Keeps so many waiting
Tethered

It's time
To release the clock hands
To step into the present
To have dreams
And make plans
The future was always happening anyway

It's time to clear the frosted glass
Stop breathing
The air of the past
And see the sun
Herald a new day
Rest these old mechanisms

Life longd
To expand
To become
The joy is in the process
It's time
I'm ready for some fun
